How to mute email conversations

By "muting" the conversation, you can keep all future responses to that conversation out of your inbox. You won't get notifications for new messages either. They will automatically be archived.

How to mute email conversations in Gmail

Step 1: Go to Gmail and select the conversation that you want to mute.

Step 2: In the menu bar at the top of the page, click More. Then, select Mute.

Step 3: After you mute a conversation, it's removed from your Inbox and archived. You can still see the conversation you have muted in All Mail with a Muted label Mute label in Gmail applied.

In Gmail, select one of these options:

- In the search box, type is:muted then click the Search icon. Your muted conversations appear with a Muted label.

- Select All Mail on the left. Your muted conversations appear with a Muted label.

In Gmail, open the email and select one of these options:

- Click the Remove label X next to Muted.

- Click More and select Unmute.
