How to create email templates
You can save a lot of time by using email templates. Email templates let you type less and send faster. This article shows you how to create email templates in Gmail.

Enable the canned responses lab
Step 1: Go to Gmail and log into your account.
Step 2: Click the Settings icon in the upper-right corner of the page and select Settings.
Step 3: Select the Labs tab.
Step 4: Scroll down to the Canned Responses (Templates) and click Enable.
Step 5: Scroll down and click Save Changes.
Work with canned responses
Step 1: Click COMPOSE to compose a new message that you want to use as the template.
Step 2: Click the down arrow in the formatting toolbar of your compose window and select Canned responses.
- Send a canned response: Choose a saved response to insert in your email, then click Send.
- Save a response: After composing your message, click New canned response and name your response. You can also overwrite previously saved responses by clicking that response’s name under Save.
- Delete a saved response: Click the response you want to delete.
Automate canned responses
Step 1: In the Gmail search box, click the down arrow .
Step 2: Enter your search criteria, then click Create filter with this search.
Step 3: Check the Send canned response box and select one of your saved canned responses.
Step 4: Click Create filter.
