How to Back Up Your Gmail Emails
It's important to back up your Gmail emails in case your email account becomes compromised or you want to delete your Gmail account. This helps to make sure that your important emails and data aren't lost. Follow these steps to back up your Gmail emails.

Step 1: Sign in to your Gmail account.
Step 2: Go to Google Takeout.
Step 3: A list of data that you can back up with this utility will appear. By default, all the Google Products that are downloadable will be selected.
Step 4: Click Select None.
Step 5: Scroll down to find Gmail and click the button to the far right to turn it on.
You can click the down arrow icon to the left of the button to define which parts of your Gmail you want to create a backup.
Step 6: Scroll to the bottom and click Next.
Step 7: Choose a file type, archive size, and delivery method for your archive file.
- Zip files are recommended because it can be opened in almost any computer.
- The maximum size of an archive file is 50GB.
- The delivery method is how you will get your data file. You can choose between Send download link via email, Add to Drive, Add to Dropbox, Add to One Drive, or Add to Box.
Step 8: Click Create Archive at the bottom.
Step 9: It will take a few minutes to prepare your file. When it's done, the file location will depend on the delivery method you choose.
