How to Set up 2-Step Verification for Your Gmail Account
Two-step verification is the most prevalent way to secure your Gmail account. Once you turn on this feature, every time you want to log into your Gmail account, you need to supply not only your password but also a unique code sent to your phone from an Authenticator app. People can't sign in to your account by trying to steal or guess your password. Follow these steps to set up 2-step verification for your Gmail account.
How to up a 2-step verification for your Gmail account?
Step 1: Go to Gmail and log into your account.
Step 2: Go to Google's 2-step verification page, scroll down, and click Get Started.
Step 3: Enter your Gmail password to confirm your identity and click Next.
Step 4: Enter your phone number into the text field below What phone number do you want to use?. Whenever you log into your Gmail account, you will be prompted to enter a verification code delivered to your phone.
Step 5: Select how you want to get codes. You can select either Text message or Phone call. Then, click Next.
If you choose the Text message option, Google will send you a text message with a six-digit verification code. Check your mobile for the code and enter it into the text field below Enter the code. Click Next.
If you choose the Phone call option, you will receive a phone call from Google. Answer it, listen to the verification numbers, and enter it into the text field in the middle of the page. Click Next.
Step 7: Click Turn On.
